This 6 hour lecture series will include the partaking of Ayurvedic teas and herbs as well as demonstrations for cleansing and balancing of the body. 

Ayurveda is one of the oldest systems of natural health care, originating in the ancient traditions of India. Now considered one of the leading forms of holistic medicine available in the West, Ayurveda addresses all factors that influence our quality of life. This holistic science is the knowledge of complete balance of the body, mind and spirit at all levels. It includes in its consideration, longevity, rejuvenation and self-realization therapies through medicinal plants, diet, exercise, yoga, massage, aromas, mantras, meditation and other lifestyle factors.

Week 1 -- The 5 great Elements: Understanding your specific constitution
Register for single session $25.
In this session we will learn the qualities of the 5 elements and how they show themselves in our doshic make-up. We will explore our present state and what our ultimate balanced state would look like and learn tools to keep ourselves in balance.
 
Week 2 -- Prana, Agni and AmaRegister for single session $25.
Using Vital Energy and Internal Fire to Eliminate Toxicity.In this session we will explore various ways to increase and direct Prana in our bodies. We will look at the various types of toxicity and the way to build the Internal fire to aid  in our healing. 

Week 3 -- Ayurvedic Daily Routines for Cleansing and Optimum Health. 
Register for single session $25.
Daily routine is a very important part of an Ayurvedic Lifestyle. Come learn the daily and seasonal routines and cleanses to maintain a balanced life.

Yin Yoga -- A mellow, meditative practice with deeply held poses to release tension and stiffness in your back, hips, shoulders and legs. Alignment and the healing/therapeutic approach is a key element of this class, accompanied by thoughtfully chosen themes, music and readings. Our Yin teacher Mimi loves to move! Her classes are informed by her 25 years of dance and performance experience. She studied dance & ballet and has performed with Opendance since 1994. Due to injuries from a car accident she lived with neck and back pain for 10 years. Using yoga techniques she is now pain free and is committed to helping others heal themselves.
